Infection prevention and control (IPC) is one of the crucial concerns in today’s healthcare system. It is considered as an essential standard of quality and safety for all healthcare facilities. Performing infection prevention and control measures within the healthcare services is vital to provide safe and effective care.

Nationally, many outbreaks occurred in the healthcare facilities with secondary transmission of infections to patients and healthcare workers. Lack of infection control knowledge and competencies is one of the main attributes to increase rates of healthcare associated infections and as a result increase mortality, morbidity and healthcare cost.
